How to use the RISE Information Centre

The Information Centre provides links to on-line information and data.

The majority of links are catalogued into topics.

For explanations of what is covered by the topics go to Topics explained.

Within each topic listing you will find a commentary and links from five sources:

  • Parliamentary Answers
  • Department for Education (DfE) Statistical First Releases (including Statistical Releases)
  • DfE Press Releases where they contain useful data
  • Key Reports
  • Relevant Websites

There are links to sources from the past five years so links to the previous titles of DCSF (Department for Children, Schools and Families) and DfES (Department for Education and Skills) are included, as is relevant information from the Department of Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS). Links are listed with the most recent first. Each one provides the date of publication and a short description of the information available.

Search the Information allows you to search the information in the link descriptions, using keywords of your choice.

The commentary with each topic listing provides a brief overview of the most significant information and trends in the data on that topic.

Getting more information links you to other sources of educational data and research available directly on line.

So by browsing the topic, using the search engine, reading the commentary and linking to Getting more information you will find links to a great deal of information.
